Gifts of God

Gifts & call of God without repentance?

What does it mean that God will not repent of the gifts and call that he has sent out? We hear this quoted all the time in Romans, but is this actually what we think it means, or is it misinterpreted?
Before we get into this segment I want to clarify that we are talking about the gift(s) of God, not the gift(s) of Holy Spirit, there is a difference and we will learn what those are as well, when I cover the topic of the gifts of the Spirit in a future segment.

Gifts of God:
The number one gift that God has given us is Salvation and Redemption for eternal life thru his Son Yeshua Romans 6:23, John 3:16

Remember that Satan, who was Lucifer at the time messed with the creators finest creation and that which was lovely and good to Him, in other words when Satan tricked Eve and Adam, he messed up big time by messing with Gods own heart!
Therefore , we have been given the greatest of gifts, the opportunity to repent and believe upon God and His Son for another shot at that true paradise that God created for mankind in the beginning.
Satan has no chance for that, his fate is sealed and he knows it!

Faith: Eph. 2:8,For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith–and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God– In other words we can’t take the credit for it.
1 John 5:15 Says that if we have this confidence (faith) in knowing that God hears us, then we know or have faith that He is going to answer us.

Grace: EPH.2:8-9, ROM. 12:3-8

Holy Spirit: ACTS 2:38, JOHN 14:17 Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit

15 “If you love me, keep my commands. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.”

Truth Holy Spirit: John 15:16 Only comes through the Holy Spirit

Rom 11: we see Apostle Paul, We must keep in mind that the Apostle Paul is an Apostle to the Gentiles. He is speaking to the Roman church, the early church there, most likely a mixture of Jewish believers and Gentiles, keep in mind also that Paul is also a Roman Citizen by birth, and He was also Jewish.
Sometimes called or known by his Jewish name Saul, or Shaul. So He would know Romes customs, rites and rituals all to well. Remember where Paul came from, he was a persecutor of the Church! Before he was an Apostle!
and he is telling them here in this passage of scripture how great our God is in his gift of Salvation and the Salvation plan God will not relent, repent nor revoke. That God has not and never will forsake his own word!

Paul is informing the Gentiles believer and reassuring the Jewish believer that God has not repented of or revoked his love for Israel simply because they have spiritual blinders on. He is reminding them that God always has a “remnant” Paul refers to this as he refers to God informing Elijah that in fact he had 7000 in reserve, much to Elijah’s astonishment I am sure!

He has chosen Israel as his chosen people, and he will not revoke that choice, though they have rejected Yeshua as the Messiah for a time and a season. It is important to hear “time & season” becuase as we know, our God always has a plan and a purpose!
That rejection is actually a gift of God to all (gentiles) now have a opportnity for the greatest gift of all, Salvation and eternal life, through His grace in placing a spiritual stupor upon a portion of the Jews.

Way back in Deut 32 God said because they have rejected Him, he will provoke the Jew to jealousy in the Gentile believer., he will use the Gentiles to bring them back!
Also we have a joint duty to bring light into the darkness, remember that
The Gentile Christians and the Jewish Believers are going to see the fullness of God’s plan unfold when we walk in what He has called us to; individually and jointly.

His people; Jews and Gentiles together as “one new man” to fulfill our joint calling.

That means Gentile Christians must open our collective eyes to the faithful plan of God to restore the nation of Israel and for Jewish Believers to share with their Gentile brothers and sisters the insight and knowledge that they have from their different vantage point. Eph. 2:14 For He Himself is our peace and our bond of unity. He who made both groups (Jews and Gentiles) into one body and broke down the barrier, the dividing wall (of spiritual antagonism between us)

Gal 3:28 28 “There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”

As Gentiles believers we are grafted into the vine, that is Yeshua the Messiah, He is the vine, we are the branches, and He is the Jewish born Messiah.

All Israel Will Be Saved

Paul goes on to tell us about the future salvation of the Nation of Israel, beginning in verse 25 of Romans 11:

25 ” I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers and sisters, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in, and in this way all Israel will be saved.

As it is written:

“The deliverer will come from Zion;
he will turn godlessness away from Jacob.
And this is my covenant with them
when I take away their sins.”

28 ” As far as the gospel is concerned, they are enemies for your sake; but as far as election is concerned, they are loved on account of the patriarchs, 29 for God’s gifts and his call are irrevocable. 30 Just as you who were at one time disobedient to God have now received mercy as a result of their disobedience, 31 so they too have now become disobedient in order that they too may now receive mercy as a result of God’s mercy to you. 32 For God has bound everyone over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all.”

So the gift or gifts that Paul is referring to in this passage is not to be confused with the gifts of the Spirit, but he is speaking about Gods gifts and plan of Salvation through the promise he made with Avraham, and the Nation of Israel.

To sum it up, the gift of God that is irrevocable is His salvation plan for mankind, after we needed it! His calling to redemption using Israel is without repentance,
His plan of redemption for us from a foe that we could not win against, remember that Lucifer was created very wise, but who’s creator was and is the wisest of all!
