Let Your Voice Touch Someone!

Blessings all,

I pray that you are well and enjoying the rest of your day as we get ready for the week-end, well for most of us have the week-end off… well at least from our 9-5’s!

Anyway, as I was riding home from work I thought about my baby brother and that I hadn’t heard from him in a while. With our busy hectic lives sometimes it’s months at a time that we don’t  get to see each other and actually talk, usually it’s big family event days that most all of us get together.

For some families it seems to work best this way with all the drama, but we are very blessed and fortunate that most of us get along really well, and we love seeing each other and spending time together.

I thought about how in our microwave society that we very rarely have an actual conversation anymore, like the old days of just picking up the phone and making an actual call.

We use our texts or social media to connect with the world, and most often our own families. How big of a difference could we make in the life of a loved one, friend or family member we hadn’t seen in a long time just by picking up our phone and actually using them as a phone, and making a call? Just to touch base, say hello how are you, and let the person know you are thinking about them.

The old timers use to say to “stop and smell the roses” that sure was some good advice, and definitely lost in our society today where everything is rush, rush, rush!

So, I am going to reach out and touch someone this week-end with my voice, how about you?

I hope this has helped you to see the need to slow down a bit, reach out, touch someone you care about this week-end.

National Day of Prayer

pexels-photo-267559.jpeg

We know that we have a National day of Prayer, but did you know that God also instituted a National day of prayer way back in the Older Testament?

Yes,  we find this  Leviticus where God said to Moses to have all the people fast, and pray  and repent for their sins and for the Nation as a whole.

This day is known as Yom Kippur and is 26 hours of total fasting and prayer, reflection and repentance. It is also said that God seals the books of life and death for the coming year, Whoa! I don’t know about you make that makes me want to stand up and pay attention!

Why is this so vital and important for today? Well, as we all know we all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. We also know that we tend to sin on a regular basis rather we are fully aware of it or not.

Also we need and should pray for our Nation as a whole, for our leaders and those in authority so that they may make correct and good decisions as their decisions affect the whole of the country.

Just think if every country tribe and tongue prayed like this on a regular basis, what a tremendous difference it would make in our societies! But, we also must remember who the god of this world is, he is NOT the God that we serve however, and continuously makes war with the saints of the Most High God! So as to thwart or move in a different direction our prayers by hindering our thoughts towards our God.

Usually through daily distractions is the most common tactic of our adversary. That is why I think it is important for us to observe at least one day a year these National days of Prayer. It can’t hurt us certainly and may even help us grow and mature in the Lord!

Growing under the Glory!

pexels-photo-751374.jpeg

This morning I was reminded that we need to let God do the vindicating, and fight our battles! I was faced with a situation where my flesh wanted to jump in and take over when this sudden calm came over me, and I was reminded that hey, it’s not your battle anyway!

So many times we forget this small but powerful tid – bit of information, that we are not to war in the flesh, and our battle is not with the flesh, but with principalities and spiritual wickedness in high places. I so needed this reminder as we all do from time to time.

You know, we are only changed from glory to glory, and every moment that we allow Holy Spirit to take over and do that battle for us, we have just grown, and been changed with that glory. Like the greater power of glory known as the “Kabod” of God, or that weightiness and heaviness of Gods glory, this is the same glory, just in a smaller dose!

I am so glad that God reminds us to allow Him to be in control of our emotions, that soulish realm where we have no business living as believers in Elohim!

I went to Psalm 24; and read where God is the victor in every battle, and we need to allow Him to take over every time our flesh wants to rise up, and control a situation so that we can grow just a little more in that glory!

So go ahead, and bask in His glory just a few moments longer today!
